What do you do when the love that once set you free, feels like it's holding you prisoner?

Sterling and Elizabeth Jackson have built a life most would envy a beautiful home, two wonderful children and a very comfortable lifestyle. Yet something is tearing them apart. With divorce looming, they are trying to make it through the holiday season for their family.

With clashing schedules, demands from employers and two busy kids, the former lovers have managed to stay out of each other's orbit, at least for a while. But fate, or maybe their well-meaning family, has set them up on a collision course.

Past memories bubble up to the surface and there's nothing to stem the flow. What once was amazing has turned hurtful and full of pain. But is that the real story? Is it too late for a couple who once lived and breathed for each other to find their way back?

There's a thin line between love and hate. Will Sterling and Elizabeth be able to mend a love that seems broken and lost, or will the final pull on the holiday ribbon unwrap their last chance to save their marriage?

Unwrapping a Marriage (Audible Audio Edition) Reana Malori Michel Prince Gail L Chaffee Michel Prince Books Books

I was invested in this couple and their relationship before the end of chapter two. Malory and Prince write a hero and a heroine who are both strong, both work-aholics, both loving parents, both faithful and both broken.

I wanted this relationship to make it, but along the way I wondered if it was worth the effort.

I wanted him to tap into his alpha tendencies, to put his foot down and demand an accounting of where it all went wrong.

I wanted her to give up the mommy-martyr cape and use the fire and fury that comes with red hair and a law degree.

Read this story, cry with this couple, wish for their HEA...not a word is wasted.

Unwrapping a Marriage (Audible Audio Edition) Reana Malori Michel Prince Gail L Chaffee Michel Prince Books Books Reviews

Sterling and Beth are on the brink of divorce and going through what a lot of couples go through in a marriage. Life has gotten in the way and love has taken a back seat.

I went back and forth with this couple. One minute I hated each of them and the next I wanted them to fight through for their HEA. There were points where I cursed Sterling for being a jerk and shook my head at Beth for being absolutely aggravating. This couple goes through some serious ups and downs as they try to decide if their marriage is worth saving.

It's a well written book but still in ways tough to read, as any couple could go through the challenges that this couple went through, and that takes away from the fantasy world that romance books represent.
From the outside Sterling and Elizabeth have it all but their marriage is falling apart. It is not for a lack of love though; it is just because life can get in the way. Anyone who has ever been in a relationship that went south can relate to this story. Too often we are left wondering what went wrong and if it is too late to fix it. This book will have you cheering for Sterling and Elizabeth to fight for their marriage and make each other a priority again. A truly uplifting story that shows us all that it is never too late to fix your relationship if both people are willing to put in the effort to do so. It was refreshing to read a book that doesn’t focus on the early love we feel when we start a relationship… while that is enjoyable we all know that the reality is things change and we have to be willing to change along with them to truly have a happily ever after.
Sterling knew the moment that Elizabeth scowled at him that she was the one. He enjoyed her fiery attitude so much, he took pleasure in making sure it surfaced often. Flash forward many years later, being married with kids and challenging careers, Sterling and Beth(Elizabeth) has seem to have lost their passion for each other. Is it to late, or can they find their way back to each?
I really enjoyed this book. The author seemed to touch on some really true points as to why marriages crumble. Beth and Sterling only saw the faults in each other, but couldn't see the faults in themselves. I loved that when these to stopped talking at each other and started listening to each other that they realized how they both had a part in the breakdown of their relationship. In the beginning I was totally #TeamBeth but after reading further I'll admit I jumped to #TeamSterling and continued to jump back and forth between the two right up until the end. It just goes to show that there are definitely two sides to every story. I'm a sucker for and HEA and this definitely gave me one and so much more. I give this one 5 solid stars!
This was a fantastic read that I would recommend. If you have been married for any length of time you'll be able to connect easily to this story.

Sterling and Elizabeth have been married for years, they have children, life troubles, and very busy lives which leaves very little time or energy for their marriage. Over time, this starts to wear on their relationship and their children. I really liked both characters even though I wanted to throttle both of them more than once. I felt their pain, their sadness, their need, and their loss of fight, god knows, I've felt that before myself. These two were very easy to relate to and I gained a connection with them very quickly.

This is a story of love and family and a story that shows you that if something is important enough to you, you will find a way to fight for it and make it work. It's also a story about communication and the importance of good communication inside a marriage. I must say that the chemistry between the characters was palpable and I could tell from the beginning that when they finally gave it to it, it was going to burn up the pages. I wasn't disappointed. Very well done Michel and Reana.
With their marriage unraveling at the seams, Beth and Sterling are trying to hold it together until after the holidays. Overworked and facing daily temptations from an attractive client, Sterling is frustrated by his wife’s animosity. Stressed from trying to juggle a demanding job, two kids, and scouting responsibilities, Beth is too tired and busy to deal with her husband. Past resentments and a years of miscommunication have pushed this couple apart, and neither of them believe that even a Christmas miracle could heal the rift between them.

Anyone who has been married with children can probably relate to huge portions of this story. The authors bring to life the raw emotion and pain of a marriage in distress. I’ve been there, struggling to raise children while working full time and participating in numerous activities with my kids. It’s exhausting in a way I can’t explain, but the authors of this book have perfectly described how it feels to have so much on your plate and to feel the other partner isn’t doing their fair share. This story is also filled with hope and sexual expectation. It’s about love, family, and devotion. It’s also realistic. When a marriage is in crisis, there is no quick fix. Unwrapping a Marriage is real, passionate, and heartbreaking in a way that will bring tears to your eyes. I wholeheartedly recommend it.
